ⓘ about

About ProTools Hub

ProTools Hub is a free set of image and PDF utilities that run entirely inside your browser. There's no upload step and no account, because there's no server involved at all: every tool uses your browser's own engine — the Canvas API for images, and the open-source pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries for PDFs — to do the work on your device.

🔒

Why we built this

Most "free" converter sites quietly upload your files to a server to process them. We wanted a set of everyday tools — resizing a photo, merging a couple of PDFs, generating a QR code — that never leave the tab you're working in.

🧩

How the AI tools stay private

Background Remover and AI Background Blur use an on-device machine learning model that downloads once and then runs entirely inside your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to any server to use them — the same no-upload promise applies to every tool here.

🙋

Who it's for

Students, freelancers, small businesses and anyone who needs a quick, no-signup way to handle a photo or a PDF without installing desktop software.

📚 guides

Quick guides

Short answers to the questions people usually have before using a file tool.

How do I turn photos into one PDF?

Open Image to PDF, add your photos in the order you want them to appear, then press Create PDF. Each photo becomes its own page, sized to fit automatically.

Will compressing an image ruin its quality?

A little quality loss is normal above roughly 60–80%, but it's usually invisible at normal viewing size. Use the live slider in Image Compressor to compare file size against visible quality before downloading.

Can I merge PDFs in a specific order?

Yes — in Merge PDF, files merge in the exact order you added them. Remove a file with the ✕ and re-add it later in the list if you need to reorder it.

Is my file actually private?

Yes. Nothing you open in any tool is sent anywhere — see our Privacy Policy for the full explanation.

How do I resize a photo without stretching it?

In Image Resizer, keep "Lock aspect ratio" turned on and just change the width or height — the other dimension updates automatically so the photo never looks squashed.

How do I crop just part of an image?

Open Image Crop, drag a box over the area you want to keep, then download. Only the selected area is exported — the rest is discarded.

My phone photo is sideways — how do I fix it?

Use Image Rotate. Rotate 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise, or flip horizontally/vertically, then download the corrected version.

Can I convert a PNG to JPG (or the other way around)?

Yes — Image Converter switches between JPG, PNG, and WebP. Note that PNG-to-JPG drops transparency, since JPG doesn't support it.

How do I stamp my logo or name across a photo?

Watermark Add lets you type text (or repeat it in a tiled pattern), and adjust its size, opacity, and color before downloading the watermarked image.

Can I remove an old watermark from a photo?

Watermark Cover lets you draw a box over it to blur or flat-cover the area. It hides the watermark rather than reconstructing what's underneath, so it works best on simple backgrounds.

How does the background remover actually work?

Background Remover's AI mode runs an on-device machine learning model (Google's BodyPix) right in your browser to detect people and cut them out — no photo ever leaves your device. A faster flat-color mode is also available for plain backgrounds.

How do I get that blurry "portrait mode" background look?

AI Background Blur uses the same on-device model to find the person in your photo and blurs everything else, similar to portrait mode on a phone camera. Adjust the blur strength slider before downloading.

How do I find the exact color code from an image?

Open Image Color Picker and click anywhere on the photo — it instantly shows the HEX and RGB values for that exact pixel, ready to copy.

How do I make a QR code for my link?

Paste your URL or text into QR Code Generator and it renders instantly — download it as an image to print or share.

Can I extract text from a photo or screenshot?

Yes — Image to Text (OCR) reads printed text from an image right in your browser. It works best on clear, horizontal text; handwriting is less reliable.

How do I make a passport or CNIC-size photo?

Passport / ID Photo Maker lets you crop to the face, pick a standard size (like 35×45mm), and even generate a ready-to-print 4×6" sheet with multiple copies.

How do I turn a photo black and white?

Grayscale Converter converts any photo to clean black & white in one click — no sliders or settings needed.

What is EXIF data and should I remove it?

EXIF data is hidden metadata a camera saves in a photo — like the date, camera model, and sometimes GPS location. EXIF Viewer & Remover shows you what's stored, then strips it before you share the photo publicly.

How do I make a favicon for my website?

Favicon Generator takes any image and outputs every standard icon size (16px up to 512px) plus a ready favicon.ico, all zipped together.

Can I remove a page from a PDF?

Yes — Delete Pages lets you preview every page and remove the ones you don't need before downloading the trimmed PDF.

How do I pull a few pages out of a bigger PDF?

Extract Pages lets you pick specific page numbers or a range, and generates a new, smaller PDF containing just those pages.

Can I split one PDF into multiple files?

Split PDF breaks a document apart by page range, giving you separate PDF files instead of one long one.

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?

Add Page Numbers stamps numbering onto every page in the position and style you choose, then lets you download the numbered PDF.

Can I sign a PDF without printing it?

Yes — Sign PDF lets you draw a signature with your mouse or finger and place it anywhere on the document, so you never need to print, sign, and scan.

Why is my PDF file so large, and how do I shrink it?

PDFs are often large because of high-resolution embedded images. Compress PDF re-optimizes the file to reduce its size while keeping it readable.

Can I turn PDF pages into images?

PDF to Image renders every page of a PDF as a separate PNG image you can save individually or as a batch.
